Happy Friday my fellow political stone-cutters!
Welcome to another installment of Feel-Good Fridays brought to you by #DSOT, where we highlight stories of political and social victories in the hope they can act as seeds of inspiration which bear further success down the line.
Of course every Tuesday, we cover the unrepresented issue of the week, highlighting the vast areas of political agreement in America, and the failure of politicians to meet those needs. This email is a palate cleanser to find hope and fun and inspiration in good news and victories large and small.
Please visit Local Spotlight on the #DSOT website to learn about organizations and activists generating change in their communities. Here specifically is Harford County Climate Action (HCCA) and just some of the important work they are doing. Just this past week, a judge handed HCCA a major victory, putting a stay on the commercial development of Abingdon Woods the group has been fighting! (A podcast about HCCA will be released later this summer.)
Next Friday we can continue to feel good. Hartford County Climate Action will have a plant sale- all of which will attract butterflies- and one month- to our yards and neighbors.
Here are the details:
Bel Air Flower Mart 8:30 - 1:30 Friday, May 19, 2023 Bel Air Armory, Main St. Bel Air, MD
Look for HCCA outside the building.
Have a great weekend!

"When nothing seems to help, I go look at a stone-cutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet, at the hundred and first blow it would split in two and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before." - Jacob Riis
